Cracker Barrel - Edmond

I like several items here, especially the fried cod! The salads are good and the steamed broccoli is good. The Sirloin steaks and chicken tenders are very tasty. The pinto beans and green beans are good too! Not great, but good. The biscuits and cornbread have always had no flavor! No salt at all. The biscuits taste like flour and the cornbread tastes like cornmeal. If they would fix that, I'd rate them higher.

Not sure what the appeal of this place is, or what the heck a cracker barrel is, but every time I eat here I feel like I'm on vacation in the mountains and the food is always good. So I guess I now know what the appeal is, but still...what is a Cracker Barrel!? :) Upon arrival, you're greeted with "homey" look with a string of wooded benches and rocking chairs, which I frequently see loaded with waiting patrons. On the inside, you always have to walk the labyrinth of their sales and marketing floor to get to the host/hostess podium. It's probably the last thing on your hungry mind, but check out what they have. Some of their products have demo's you can try. If you have kids, this is probably the last thing you need. I find it VERY hard not over-indulge here, especially since I'm only 24-days into my New Year's resolution. This time, I was aware of my order and went simple. Biscuits (3) and gravy with sausage (patties). I was here with my father and he had a perfect over-easy egg, with bacon and two biscuits.Our server was not only attentive, but she was hilarious and almost flirty with my dad. I'm sure he enjoyed getting his ego stroked. While Cracker Barrel is not a personal staple of mine, I have no issues eating here...and I might be back on my own accord.

Overall good experience. Waitress was very new and happy. She was a bit over eager but I have never had to worry about an empty glass of tea. I ordered the meatloaf with cheesy hash browns and pinto beans. Really homely and very tasteful. Nice family environment.

Service was slow and in our party of 9 3 orders were wrong. I was supposed to have a loaded baked potato and had nothing on it and was undercooked. Never had good luck with CB and will never go czck
