While the service can be slow and the venue a bit cold, it is a great spot for art-lovers, families with older kids, and those looking for a relaxing vibe. They host cultural events and have a variety of crafts for sale. The menu is simple but satisfying, and the staff can be hit or miss. Overall, it's a refreshing and diverse venue in Edinburgh worth checking out for a unique experience.
Lovely surroundings and friendly service. Food was reasonably priced, tasty, with a good selection of choices. The cake and drink special a must try!
There is always a grumpy men and is always a men : Those who have offices upstairs should not forget that down its a public place with old, young, children, classes and so on. There a lot going on if they want quiet they need to find an office that is more isolated so they can be as grumpy as they are!!!
Have been here several times and enjoyed the homely atmosphere, good food nice tea. We will return.
Went into the Christmas Art Fair this afternoon. I know they were busy, but the service at the cafe counter really was poor. The lady taking the order was so disinterested she wouldn’t even make eye contact and kept talking to another member of staff. She made us feel we were just being a nuisance. The other lady bringing the tea to the table was much nicer and was clearly working really hard to keep on top of things, but by then we felt distinctly unwelcome. The actual pot of tea was good, but I’m not sure I’d go back, I wanted to support a community enterprise but there are so many other good cafes in Leith.
Nipped in with disabled client as we needed to use a loo. Thought it polite to stay for a cuppa and was very pleasantly surprised. Lovely coffee, yummy cakes and thourghly pleasant and attentive staff
