Contribute Feedback[Restaurant Name] aims to create a vibrant culinary experience but has received a spectrum of reactions from patrons. While some diners applauded the friendly service and delightful dishes like fat juicy mussels and unique cocktails, others expressed disappointment at the food quality, citing issues like cold meals and over-seasoning. The atmosphere, though lively with live music, proved overwhelming for some, leading to frustration over communication difficulties. Additionally, inconsistent service practices—including turning away customers close to closing time—left many feeling undervalued. Despite these critiques, several guests remain hopeful for a return, drawn by the potential of the venue.
Kitchen difficulties meant our meal was delayed...staff couldn't have been better...lovely food and exemplary service...
The servers here were, in our opinion, unfriendly to the point of surly. The orders were wrong, with no hint of an apology; and we waited for what seemed like an eternity in a pretty empty restaurant. The whole thing was a terrible disappointment. Needs...a good manager to sort it out... urgently.
You were looking forward to having dinner with friends we haven't seen since preCovid days. Based on favourable reports, we booked a table for for dinner last night. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was fine, especially fat juicy mussels, but evening was spoiled...by the arrival of a guitarist who proceeded to sing and play using amplification so loudly that it became impossible to have a conversation without shouting at each other. We asked the staff on two occasions if he would turn the volume down, of which he appeared not to do. We were going to stay for desserts but because of the continuing noise level, which was spoiling our night, we decided to go elsewhere. Does a venue like this, ie fairly small and promoting its food, really require live amplified music??
Had a lovely meal which included soup, hummus and flatbreads, harissa chicken and apple pie and all were delicious. Very friendly and attentive staff. Will certainly visit next time I’m in Edinburgh
Part of a small group but the food delivered was rather poor and cold too, raviolis were hardly cooked and the whole plate was stone cold. Service was adequate, although not amazing and guessing it was the manager, he looked as he walked off the...street wearing some jacket. This is not a michelin restaurant, so not expecting too much fussing with waiters, but that was not right and if the staff serving food cannot be bothered making it right then you know you are not in a vibrant prize winning venue. Can't believe that is the same place that won Best Pub and Restaurant in times are very different but clearly that was some other team in charge then. I very rarely put negative reviews as I appreciate the work done by people in hospitality, but this was really not right and left me feeling annoyed. Sort your kitchen and serve decent hot food, make an effort in serving it out as well, then we can discuss things properly. But the experience I had was of a team that could hardly be bothered... Sorry.
