Contribute FeedbackThe Cloisters Bar in Edinburgh offers a cozy atmosphere with a great selection of local beers. However, recent reviews highlight incidents of rude staff behavior, including a barman shouting at customers. Despite this, some patrons still praise the friendly service, great beer selection, and delicious food. With a mix of positive and negative feedback, it seems that The Cloisters Bar may be a hit or miss experience depending on the staff present during a visit. For those willing to take the chance, it offers a unique setting inside an old church and a true local pub vibe worth exploring.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food and drinks were great value for the money. The two men working behind the bar were outstanding. The haggis, sausage and mash, and Greek salad were superb. The beers offered were top-notch and well maintained. Thank you for a fantastic meal!
I've been going here for years. Just heard someone left a one star review as they were advised that the pub was not suitable for their Beagle dog. They had been in earlier and the dog was causing a bit of a disturbance, with the owners doing nothing. I was there with my dog. Excellent service. Water bowl provided and he got a treat for being a good boy !!
Zero stars, day staff were great then at shift change the manager came in telling us we were too noisy, 50-60 year olds, we left in disgust at how we we treated, better pub atmosphere in the church next door. Avoid unless your an adult monopoly player
The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. It seemed like the majority of patrons were locals when I visited on a Thursday evening. The staff behind the bar were knowledgeable and eager to assist. The tables were promptly cleaned after each party departed.
This charming old-fashioned pub has a great atmosphere and vibe. We would definitely come back if we are in the area again. They also have an incredible variety of gins and ales available.
