loves localization and it is decor, therefore a 4 and not a 3.5! I ordered a hamburger, it was delicious and the presentation was good! the service is ok, the waitress seemed a bit stressful, but she was nice. next time I'd rather go a coffee to lunch. View all feedback.
Our stay in edinburgh was really pleasant. to enjoy a lot about the city and checkpoint was at the top of our list of places we visited. had a great time were really well maintained and would recommend everyone. if they are located after another one that is completely independent and not like the usual chains that are out there, then they try. it is not easiest to find, although so they see it going on the map before (see one for us to find out where we wanted to go). try their cocktails especially delicious.
Had the best time here on Saturday night so much so that we came back to brunch on Sunday! may not be mistaken, incredibly tasty eating, loved the beer selection and jane had a whole karaffe to herself from the malbec after she loved the first glass before our meal. After talking to the girl who served us, I found out that they soon install a beer, which would be another great supplement. loved the container an actually used shipping container at the location that just works. 10 out of 10. d

My friends and I decided to visit Checkpoint today after a lot of debate about where to go for lunch. We were craving something delicious after a busy week, so I opted for the steak salad with mushrooms and chimichurri. I thought it would be a nice and healthy choice...until it arrived on a tray! Despite the unexpected presentation, I enjoyed every bite. The steak was perfectly cooked and flavorful. My friend ordered the prawn laksa, which was also delicious and full of flavor. The prices were reasonable and the restaurant was just a short walk from the city center. The atmosphere was nice and airy, although Checkpoint tends to be a bit dark, even on sunny days like today.
I love seeing this space being used as a permanent restaurant now, rather than just a pop-up during the festival season. I've visited a few times for tea/coffee/team catch-ups before lunch. The space is bright, airy, and open, making it a great spot for conversation without intruding on others' space. I especially enjoy the container within the restaurant and the industrial vibe. A nice concept. The standout feature here is the service. The staff are fantastic - friendly, warm, and efficient. The atmosphere is laid-back and relaxed, but the excellent service really sets it apart. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu. They offer all-day breakfasts, rice bowls, and po'boys. I tried the chicken, ginger, and rice bowl with a side of chips and homemade tomato sauce - a bit of an odd combination, but I was curious. The rice bowl was perfect for the weather, comforting and hot. The chicken thighs were poached, with soft skin (not my preference, but easy to remove). The chips were chunky, soft, and fluffy inside, and the homemade tomato sauce was tangy and delicious. The tea was good, and the teapot didn't spill (a personal pet peeve of mine!). I really like this place; it's conveniently located near my work and has quickly become a favorite spot for me.
