We needed a last-minute reservation on Sunday night after an event in Edinburgh. We were offered an 8:15 time slot, which was perfect. We received a warm welcome and the food was excellent, especially the lamb. Even though we were the last customers in the restaurant, we did not feel rushed and were able to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. View all feedback.
What Leo Davies doesn't like about Charwood Grill:

The employees and the management were incredibly helpful, both in the lead up to the event and during the event itself. there were several locations where I contacted the manager who was always helpful and could reassure in the planning phase. in the evening of the event the bar and the waiting staff were friendly and very attentive. the bar staff was efficient and relaxed. the food was served at the agreed time and the quality was of a good standard for the size of the party and what was asked. I support the use of the functional suite and the service provided. a very good evening was from all. thank you.
Eating in wood was ok I had the pfote to begin what was not the best, but the steak pee and veg was nice. we were served quickly and politely.
A group of a dozen of us booked a private lunch party in charwood last Monday. the ambiente, the setting and the service have exceeded all our expectations and the addition of an additional, unexpected gastes has the staff not fade a bit the quality of the kitchen was very good, with a varied selection offered at and the dishes were presented with style, some dishes on top plates and the steak dishes on rectangular, wooden boards. charwood is one to come back!

Charwood is one of my favourite local restaurants. Have been coming for many years although changed names to Charwood a couple of years ago now. There is excellent parking and not too far a drive from the city centre. The restaurant goes from strength to strength and you can really tell that the chefs and waiting staff take pride in what they do. The stone baked pizzas are amazing and I can never usually look past them however on my most recent visit I opted for the Sirloin Steak with BBQ marinade, blue cheese sauce and chunky fries. I certainly wasn't disappointed and the steak, medium rare was cooked to perfection. It's amazing how many restaurants, and usually the ones that are better...read more
