I usually stop at this place and it's okay, but on Wednesday afternoon I stopped here on my way back to Madison. I ordered 2 egg and cheese sandwiches, a medium hazelnut coffee, and a wine pack. While on the interstate, I started eating and found that everything was frozen and cold. The second sandwich was the same. The coffee tasted like it had been sitting at the bottom of the cup for a long time. Since I was already on the interstate, I couldn't turn back. Normally it's okay, although sometimes the ovens are not on at the beginning of the afternoon. But this time, it was a complete disappointment.
The dining experience was awful and overpriced. I purchased a breakfast sandwich, large coffee, hash brown, and a few donuts. The coffee was decent, but it was almost cold by the time I reached my car. For a $3 cup of coffee, I expected better. The donuts, which were supposed to be a specialty of the restaurant, were disappointing. They tasted burnt and were hard, as if they had been sitting out for days. The hash browns were cold and there were only six small pieces in the bag, which were broken and fatty. They were completely inedible. The bacon croissant sandwich was bland and cold as well. The small, tasteless piece of bacon was hard to find. Overall, everything was either cold, greasy, or stale. For a $12 breakfast, it was one of the worst I have ever had. I tried five items and all of them were a disappointment. I will not be returning.
Regrettably, the hot chocolate I ordered was mostly water and lacked any discernible chocolate flavor. However, at least it was served hot. If I had tasted it before leaving, I would have requested a refund.
I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. The young teenager with the afro was very courteous and displayed a positive attitude. The place was clean, and my orders were served quickly.
