My whole family loves this place! It is a tradition that we eat our final meal on the island here each summer. The food is really great and our kids really love it. The service is also excellent and the prices are very reasonable. I'm from near New York City so I've been to a lot of good Chinese restaurants and this one definitely compares with some of the best. Recently decided we wanted Chinese so we gave the China house one more try...we stopped ordering from there because our orders were always shorted an item or two and the “credits” promised next time never were honored. Well when u get a craving you are willing to give one more chance.... we ordered 5 items.. we were so very disappointed. Food is great as well as readiness. As it is only a take out restaurant, the take out area is ok.
The restaurant is ripping people off ! 6 wings for thirteens dollars is INSANE!! I will NEVER order from them again, OR even use the delivery platform. They need to get these restaurants about what items come with what like DOORDASH, so I can offend these mistakes again. How can these people get away with such insanity is beyond me. No food for what you pay.
Straight fire Chinese food for being on the Vineyard. We come every year DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. Well priced, fresh, cooked well. We ordered: Vegetable fried rice 2 x red Vegetable curry 2 order vegetarian spring rolls Boneless ribs 2 x Sesame chicken Pork lomein Dragon and phoenix
Coming from Boston and a frequent eater of these Chinese restaurants, the China House was average at best and overpriced. Quality of the food tasted a bit old, quite common being on an island and most of the products didn 't taste fresh. Yet, the end bill came out close to the same as a high quality restaurant. I would put this on an emergency list if you really want Chinese food. But, overall, overpriced with poor quality food. The clerk in the front was fast and friendly. Takeout only.
