Ate here on the back on great TA reviews and we weren’t disappointed. Booked in advance but it was very quiet at 6.30pm on a Friday night. The bar man was very friendly and pleasant. The pub decor is rustic and charming. A very nice place to eat and drink. The menu is extensive so caters for everyone. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge. The homemade pies are exceptional. We really enjoyed our me... View all feedback.

Our group of 4 had our evening meal here and were immediately taken by homely the place was with a very cosy atmosphere. There was a lovely wood burning fire adding to the cosines. The staff consisted of two young ladies who were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and 3 of us opted for the Home Made Pies. My wife had the Steak and Kidney and I had the Lamb and Ale Pie. They were absolutely superb. The Shortcrust Pastry was light and the pies were crammed with large chunks of meat. Accompanying the dish was delicious grave, home made chips and a selection of vegetables. Had we been staying in the area longer we would certainly have eaten here more often.
This charming pub is amazing. A few years ago, we stayed here and promised to come back, and here we are. The atmosphere is great, the food is fantastic, the owners are lovely, and both the yurts and rooms for accommodation are delightful. The food is reasonably priced and I highly recommend this place.

We stayed at a cottage just outside the village and the owners recommended this pub/ Resturant we ate 4 nights at this resturant and all 4 of us loved the food, great variety on the menu and some lovely unusual dishes.Really well priced good home cooked food with plenty different choice and great service all the girls in the bar were really nice and friendly as different staff most nights, the blonde girl with the checked trousers was particularly nice and found her to be really friendly and chatty. We would highly recommend this pub/ food to all, and we tried 14 different dishes between us over our stay and thought they were all great and really tasty.BRILLIANT
My wife and I don't eat out often, so we were excited to have a meal together at a nice country pub while on holiday. We had reservations for 7:30 and arrived on time. Initially, we were seated at a small table crammed into a corner, which was uncomfortable. After 10 minutes, the server moved us to a larger table. Despite the pub not being full, we couldn't understand why we were initially cramped into a corner. When it came time to order drinks, we were given only one menu to share, which was frustrating as we wanted to consider our options separately. After asking the table next to us for their menu, we were eventually able to place our order, which took 30 minutes from our arrival. My wife ordered quiche with chips and salad, while I ordered a medium steak with chips. Despite the simple nature of our dishes, the food did not arrive until 8:55pm, an hour and twenty-five minutes after we arrived and fifty-five minutes after we ordered. The delay was blamed on the thickness of the steak, which seemed like a poor excuse for poor kitchen management. When the food finally arrived, it was clear that it had been rushed due to our complaints. My steak was undercooked in places and the quiche pastry was raw. The menu was extensive but seemed pretentious in some places, with dishes named after celebrities who had dined there years ago. The owners should focus on serving well-cooked food in a timely manner rather than on gimmicky menu items. Overall, I would recommend avoiding this pub and trying one of the other options in the area.
