Contribute FeedbackThe Royal Oak offers a nice atmosphere with friendly staff, although service can be a bit slow at times. The food, while generally good, had some issues with fatty and chewy beef in the pie. However, the staff were responsive to feedback. The restaurant had a good selection for vegetarians, although a loud band on a Saturday night hindered conversation. Despite some menu items being unavailable on a Sunday evening, guests were able to enjoy a delicious meal with local beer and friendly staff. The restaurant is dog-friendly, with attentive service and excellent food. Overall, The Royal Oak is a cozy and welcoming spot with great food, service, and atmosphere, making it a recommended choice for a meal or drinks.
This pub used to be really good, but on our last visit the food was expensive (though of good quality), the service was abysmal (we had to wait ages for our
Me and my husband went into this pub as it was the first one we saw when we arrived, i had the garlic mushrooms, they were burnt apart from the white parts
This pub is absolutely stunning for a family meal with our dog. The service is fantastic, the atmosphere is lovely, and the food is amazing! The menu changes often, which was great because we dined here twice during our vacation and got to try new dishes each time. The dog menu is fantastic, our furry friend was thrilled to be included. The atmosphere is cozy with the fire, and the place is very clean. Overall, it's a wonderful spot to enjoy a meal or drinks.
The service was excellent and very friendly and helpful. The vegetarian options were suitable for a country pub.
Sunday evening and a lot of vegetarian menu items were gone after a busy lunchtime, but we cobbled a meal together which was delicious. Very well kept local beer and very lovely staff made for a cracking evening by the fire. Definitely recommend this to while away a wet February evening.
