Menu

A comprehensive menu of Horse Farrier from Eden featuring all 37 meals and drinks can be found here on the list.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Threlkeld, The Horse and Farrier offers a charming ambiance complemented by a welcoming staff. While some patrons have praised the restaurant for its hearty meals and excellent service, others have expressed disappointment regarding inconsistent food quality and pricing. Several diners noted a reduced menu selection compared to previous visits and highlighted issues such as reheated dishes and cold meals. However, positive experiences also abound, with groups enjoying well-prepared, freshly cooked meals served promptly. Overall, The Horse and Farrier seems to provide a mixed dining experience, balancing charm with occasional culinary letdowns.

Was Hannah Murphy at Horse Farrier a mag?
Just visited here with my husband and the food was incredible! I had the lamb Henry and he had the braised beef, we gave both 10/10. A lovely cosy pub atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back here next time we’re up in the lakes! Service: 5 Hotel highlights: Romantic, Quiet, Great value View all feedback.

What Nathan Gray dislikes about Horse Farrier:
We had a walk from Keswick to Threlkeld along the old railway line and wanted a bite to eat so we got a table. The food was okay but for sausage and mash I think is expensive, especially when we paid elsewhere. Also for a bottle of wine is excessive. View all feedback.

Stayed overnight at the H and F in their dog friendly accommodation 'The Salutation Inn ' across the road from the pub hotel. Dog friendly room was spacious with bowls and bed area for the dog and large double bed with large plasma tv for our comfort. Tea and coffee facilities including biscuits. Room was very clean and neatly furnished. Dinner and breakfast across the road at the Horse and farrier pub had facility to include your dog on non carpeted dining area and staff were welcoming and professional. Food was excellent nd service very efficient . Would definitley recommend this to others- perfect for walkers, close to Keswick and you can take your dog.

Not been in for several years and the food then was excellent. Today I'm afraid was a poor experience. The beer I bought was only average and the food was just about edible. My son and I both had a burger which were both like chewing a plimsoll. The chips looked sorry as well defo from the freezer I'd say. So £53 the lighter we left feeling conned. Never again!

We had 2 evening meals here when in the area recently. The food was good the staff friendly and efficient. I enjoyed the gin menu, paired with various Fevertree tonics. I particularly liked that our dogs were made very welcome, in fact nearly every table had a dog under it. All were well behaved. I would certainly visit again.
