Out for a walk near my daughter's home in this village. Dropped in for a coffee and beer. Sat outside in covered area and found it very relaxing. Friendly waiter who coped well with our lack of German. Good coffee and nice cold beer at a reasonable cost. Did not partake of food but saw their ice cream menu very tempting.Happy to go there again. View all feedback.
What Heinz-Jürgen Stark doesn't like about Felderer Stadl:
Great location in the center of the city, we found the staff a little abrupt, not especially welcoming or friendly. Food was average, carving hard service usual. We then decided for the rest of our holiday time in Maurach. Unfortunately, after visiting this restaurant I cannot recommend. Missy Australia. View all feedback.
We loved this restaurant for its local vibe, no English menu so get your Google Translate ready. The pig with spetzel and vegetables was amazing as the Vegetable Tyrolean trio, the spinach dumplings, cheese dumplings and a kind of spinach ravioli. It is also served with a salad. The staff was friendly and the location is great.
We decided to book as it was a Friday night and it was lucky that we did it when it was pretty busy. The restaurant is beautiful inside, very cozy and typical Austrian. The man behind the bar was very friendly and smiling and showed us in our place. Our waiter was less pleasant, but that was the only negative aspect of our visit. All our meals were well cooked and delicious. My tuna salad was huge and beautiful, friends had mixed grill and pork medallions in the sauce and they thought everything was delicious.

We came from the main road to Maurach for two things. We were looking for the famous stone oil production (Tiroler stone oil) and secondly a nice break in our long cisalpine journey. The first part of our plan we realized very soon with all possible oil products from the local business. Then we went to Felder Stadl, who we remembered from our previous visit to Maurach. When we came, the cafe was already quite occupied by customers and we understood that waiting was more than we expected. Nevertheless, we needed rest and break from driving and so decided to stay. The place itself is very beautifully surrounded by mountain peaks. Unfortunately for us the other tourists arrived and in a very short time the cafe was fully occupied. We have our food, but it was impossible to catch the waitress to settle accounts. It was clear that the waitress was very busy, but still we expected some attention, because we sat at the table with empty plates and dishes for quite a long time. So the break in the trip took much longer, as expected.
