We stumbled upon this little shop while driving through the area. The ice cream was quite bland; the soft serve was decent, but the hand-dipped flavors lacked any real taste. Wonderful respite from the heat and dog days of the summer. Get a Turtle Tom! Delicious!! Support the downtown area and enjoy ice cream, too. Great service and tasty ice cream!
Turtle Tom 's is fairly new and the folks participating in the Urban Air weekend are really enjoying this new addition. We went in after someone said they had a chocolate soda and they liked it. I wanted a razzle (aka flurry or blizzard) but also was thinking about a sundae or a scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone. My scooper was awesome she ended up making a razzle, put it in a waffle cone and topped it with hot fudge. Great customer service!
We happened upon this small shop while driving through the area. The ice cream was rather uninspiring; while the soft serve was acceptable, the hand-dipped flavors lacked genuine flavor. The peanut butter flavor seemed overly artificial. Although the owner and staff were very friendly to other customers, they didn't extend the same warmth to us. It has a strong local vibe, and if you're not from the area, I wouldn't recommend it. You might feel like an outsider, and they certainly make that feeling known. I definitely won't be going back.
The kids had a fantastic time, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to enjoy myself since they couldn't accommodate peanut allergies, aside from the soft serve ice cream. I could have easily gotten that at Burger King.
