The Coffee Shop - Eastleigh

I visited this cafe restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. It has a nice atmosphere and plenty of seating. However, I experienced long wait times for service as the person taking orders also made the drinks, causing delays. It would be more efficient if drink orders could be handled by another staff member while one person manages the till. The wait for my food was also lengthy, but the roast turkey meal I ordered was good value at £15 and came with a generous portion of vegetables. There were some delays in getting the food from the kitchen to the tables as well. The menu offered a variety of dishes, from light bites to main meals, which was impressive. Overall, this cafe restaurant has potential if they can improve their service efficiency, especially during busy times.

I took my daughter to the cafe for a cooked breakfast. We placed our order at 10:46. The coffees were served promptly, but the food took 50 minutes to arrive. The waitress who brought our food apologized for the delay. The eggs were overcooked, and the tomato and beans were lukewarm. The rest of the food was either hot or acceptable. The long wait was not acceptable, and it seemed like we weren't the only ones experiencing delays. I would not recommend this place.

We decided to eat her instead of going to a local pub, how wrong we were to do that. It took 45 minutes from ordering to get served, 4 lunches and drinks totalling over £51.00. After 30 minutes I asked when we would get to eat and I was told you are on the list well whoopydee. Communication was appalling, we were bought cutlery which I returned as it was stained. Food finally arrived after 45 minutes and on sight it was overpriced for what we got, e.g. a filled bun with very small chicken fillet, bit of coleslaw for £9.99. Were were going to order puddings separately but given the wait time and cost we went to the local pub after all and had a Pint and a Pudding...which arrived within 10 minutes.

We came to Hilliers food Hall for a pre- mother's day lunch today. There were 5 of us and the bill came to £94.09. 3 of us chose fish and chips and all 3 portions were completely over- cooked. 2 of us had coffee cake for dessert. The cake was edible, but very dry. We all ate our lunch having paid a large sum of money so felt it would be inappropriate not to eat it. At the end of the meal I did thank the waiting staff for all their effort as they were polite, friendly and professional, but clearly the food Hall is trying to mass produce orders which then equates to a detriment to the quality of the food which is then served. When this garden centre was owned by Rosebourne (up until Wednesday of last week) the food quality was excellent. Such a difference experience now sadly. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is very expensive to be served with poor quality, over-cooked food. However, the waiting staff cannot be faulted.

After reading reviews saying that food was disgusting at Mulberry Thyme, I must say our Freshly Cooked Breakfasts was excellent. We had 5 different breakfasts. Each was exactly as described, hot, good portions, and all arrived at our table at the same time by friendly staff. Will definitely recommend.
