read moreThe Red Lion in Willingdon showcases a delightful gastro pub atmosphere, rich with local charm and largely frequented by a mature clientele. While many diners appreciate the friendly service and the consistently well-presented, generous portions of food, opinions diverge significantly regarding the quality of certain dishes. Highlights include the steak and kidney pie and hearty Sunday roasts, though some patrons found their meals underwhelming, citing issues such as bland gravies and overcooked vegetables. Overall, The Red Lion remains a popular choice for both tasty pub fare and a convivial dining experience, with room for improvement in consistency.
