I went to purchase some ice cream at this restaurant. I asked a young man how much a soft ice cream cone cost, but he didn't know and had to check on the till. He told me the price in a mumbled manner, so I bought two and handed him a £20 bill. He seemed confused as he stared at the till, so I asked if he was okay. I frequently visit this restaurant for lunch. The staff is always cheerful and helpful. The food is well prepared, and much better than some supermarket cafes. The cafe is kept clean and tidy, with staff constantly sweeping and cleaning tables.
Another person had to assist him with the till, and eventually, he returned with my change. However, he dropped it on the side without saying anything or providing any customer service. He then sneezed without covering his mouth and continued serving the next customer without cleaning his hands or the area where he sneezed. It was clear he lacked customer service skills and basic health and hygiene knowledge, despite his youth.
I stopped by for a KitKat bar and was charged £1.50 for it. Disappointing considering the cafe's prime location in the park. There isn't much else to say.
Often used to meet people due to the central location and the choice drinks only, drink and something sweet, brunch or lunch depending on the day.
Cold. and unwelcoming. Was not busy, and I get heatibg costs are high but it was about 3 degrees in here. Thought I might get a breakfast but nothing inspired me in the slightest. Had a tea (the paper cup collapsed and I spilt some, I was handed a face cloth by the disinterested till person. I bought some sort of cake/biscuit that whem I got back to car, found the bag was damp (paper inside) and it was almost frozen probably with overnight temperatures. £4.80 wasn’t bad for tea/cake/Fanta but sign said cash under £5 (they didn’t quibble on this) I don’t think the serving girl wanted to be there who can blame her it’s cold, damp and unwelcoming.
