the lunch was arranged by a friend, never been in this pub, so I read the on line menu. Actually, I thought the menu was too easy and maybe a bit clear. but I'm so glad we left. the greeting and the service of the personal were professional and attentive. fabulous gin choice when that is her ding. we sat in the dining room, that was very Christmas, but not above the top. for eating it was great. Very poor experience, not the same pub it was, which unfortunately is reflected in reviews it gets, the pub was once one of the best in the area now its a shadow. Very abrupt lady working there really should be back of house. Such a shame as well that the food is no longer a step above a basic pub. Much better options at the **** or Meynell am afraid. They really must lift their game or I fear the worst for this pub. View all feedback.
Used to go there a lot but had heard midling reports more recently. Ignore these as the food was excellent and the service great. Recommend Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Just been for a quick lunch with my wife and was so impressed with red lion, the barman who served us was superb, he was polite, friendly and above all human. Excellent. The food was first class and prompt, we will definitely be going back, a massive well done to the Red lion, 100% excellent. Very rare Dave Dee Discos get's to work in a pub But I'm glad I Did I think I made lots of new friends ,There was Mick Kev Kev 2 the younger and Sue Charlotte to mention a few, great pub, great atmosphere, good prices brilliant beer/ food I just loved working there, Keep up the good work! Really lovely pub lunch, quiet Saturday (but day before father's Day! but the staff suggested eating outside, which was perfect. Staff really welcoming couldn't fault it at all, food all delish will be back Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
