the employees are beautiful, very classic older style small caffe. the prices are somewhat higher than I would expect to pay in this more dated type of caffe with basic items, but they were on changes and attention. coffee was nice, can't mistake it, and the cakes are definitely homemade and look delicious, will try next time. My friend and I travelled from Withernsea to Hedon to sit in our favourite secret garden at Nutmegs with my two dogs. Sadly we were turned away as the tables weren 't being set up outside, and the dogs weren 't allowed in . The tables were already outside. This was on a dry day in January. Had 2 gorgeous ham sandwiches freshly prepared with salad and coleslaw.it was proper ham washed down with tea.The cakes look to die for and everyone was raving about the meals put in front of them.Customers are made to feel special and come out with a smile
I had to leave a review for anyone wanting to taste a pie or cake that will remind them of baking as it tasted in their childhood this is it....Fresh high quality ingredients. generous portions. No preservatives . And baked traditionally. This is just perfect . And would stand up against any Michelin menu... when quality ingredients are cooked this well, simplicity is key . Well done.

Visited on 3/10 after being recommended by my uncle. Could not believe the ridiculous mixed reviews. Having worked with food for several years, I’ve a fair knowledge on pricings etc. Multiple silly reviews on portions, pricing etc. £7 for a full English of nice quality, minimal wait time, and decent portions. Absolutely no complaints, will be back!
We went in for two all day breakfasts at £7 a piece I was shocked when the plates arrived one very small egg 2 bits of bacon 2 sausages and couple of spoonfuls of beans and a tiny half tomato we had asked for no mushrooms no alternative was offered, I thought oh well hopefully it’s really tasty and makes up for the price and small portion, unfortunately not sausages tasted cheap frozen type and bacon was thick and tasteless. I think the staff are well aware of the quality or lack of quality as at no point was we asked if we was happy with the food but they couldn’t wait for us to be finished and get our money and out of there £19.20 for two tiny breakfasts and two coffees will not be going back and definitely wouldn’t recommend also no option for a larger breakfast or to add additional extras and doesn’t actually state on menu the quantity of what you get.
