While many patrons appreciate the friendly staff and scenic views, concerns about environmental practices, such as disposable utensils, have emerged. The cafe's prices have raised eyebrows, especially for drinks that many find exorbitant. A recent gluten-free oversight in cake decoration highlighted the need for better management transparency. Regardless, the cafe remains a favored spot for locals and visitors alike, with notable service moments, like staff assisting in reuniting a lost dog, making it a memorable destination.
I stopped by for a coffee and sandwich today at this restaurant. The food and coffee, as always, was fantastic. However, the staff went above and beyond their typical duties by assisting in reuniting a lost dog. The dog was tempted by their delicious sausages, making it easier for us to put it on a leash after struggling for over an hour during our walk in Risby. We are extremely grateful to the staff for helping the dog return home safely and for our delicious sausage sandwiches. Thank you!
Today, we had the pleasure of visiting Folly Lake cafe. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We indulged in some delicious coffee and sausage rolls, which were absolutely amazing. We highly recommend trying them. The coffee was served piping hot, which made it even more enjoyable. Thank you for a great experience - we will definitely be coming back!
I have visited this cafe multiple times in the past and have always enjoyed it. However, I am disappointed that they continue to use disposable plates, cups, and cutlery, which is harmful to the environment. Additionally, I find the staff to be unfriendly, as they rarely smile back when greeted. The sandwiches are overpriced and poorly presented. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the cafe has declined compared to how it used to be.
Totally relaxing setting in the beautiful forest and lakes of Risby. Brilliant staff and fantastic food the home made cakes are amazing . We started coming here a few years ago and whenever we need to de-stress then this is the place to come!
Have been for a walk around Folly Lakes returned to the Folly Lake Cafe to purchase a cold drink. I ordered a small bottle of Victorian Lemonade 1 x can of Fanta Lemon 1 x can of Fanta Orange and nearly fell onto the floor when they asked for £8.80p!!! Absolutely scandalous. I will never ever purchase anything from there again. How they get away with it is beyond me I would not recommend this cafe to anyone. You can purchase a full case of 24 x Cans of Fanta Orange for £8 at Iceland. That equates to 33p per can. That is over 9 times the price. Check our the prices before you buy!
