What Hillary S likes about Cafe Chocolat:
This was a lovely little café decorated to make you feel you are sitting on the banks of the Seine in Paris. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quick service. Delightful atmosphere. Great menu choices but disappointed about basic the salad was. There is only one toilet for the number of seats pro rata. Bonus: a complimentary chocolate after paying the bill. Nice touch. Hubby enjoyed his meal but I only ate my meat, I couldn’t believe they would spoil a tasty meal with a pile of cheap frozen potatoes on the side, even a couple of boiled potatoes would have been nice. I wouldn’t return for this reason, and I was still hungry when I left because I would never order dessert when the main wasn’t up to standard. View all feedback.

read moreThis charming cafe offers a variety of delicious food options with generous portion sizes and reasonable prices. The friendly staff goes above and beyond to accommodate customers, even helping with carb counting for diabetes management. Special events and popular chocolate offerings are highlights, with only minor complaints about coffee quality. The cozy atmosphere and kid-friendly menu make it a great choice for families. The cream tea scones and chocolate cake are especially noteworthy, providing a taste of rural charm in the heart of the main street. Highly recommended for a delightful dining experience with French cuisine influences.

The cafe was closed when we were in Hornsea yesterday and the premises on the market. That's a shame as there are not that many traditional tea shops in town.
