Michael's Bistro - East Renfrewshire

Yesterday, I had lunch with 2 friends at a restaurant. We all decided to order the cauliflower dish from the main menu, which cost £12 each. The dish consisted of cauliflower, a sauce, and mozzarella. To buy these ingredients separately would only cost £3. However, when the dish arrived, the cauliflower was still frozen. The portion size was very small, just slightly larger than a ramekin dish, and only had about 6 pieces of vegetables. After sending it back, the cauliflower dish was microwaved, but the vegetables came back cold. We ended up ordering fries and garlic bread because even combining the 3 portions wouldn't be enough for one person. In total, we spent just under £100 on food and a couple of glasses of house wine for 2 people, while the third person was driving and had tap water. Overall, our experience was disappointing and we do not plan on returning to this restaurant.

Terrible experience. I contacted the restaurant in early November to inquire about catering for a group of 5 people, including 3 vegans. I asked if they had a vegan menu available, not just removing the meat from the regular menu. They quoted a price of £85 per person. However, the vegan options we were served were disappointing - a hard melon, a spinach pie with minimal vegetables, and melon for dessert. The meat-eaters in our group also did not enjoy their meals. Overall, I felt sorry for the staff.

The food at this restaurant was well below average. The goats cheese salad lacked dressing and when I asked for some, I was given a bowl of mainly olive oil with a drizzle of balsamic at the bottom. The haggis bon bons were tasteless, which is surprising for haggis. However, my friend enjoyed the Caesar salad. Service was friendly when they were attentive. The restaurant had large flatscreens playing wedding photos, which was distracting. Overall, this place has potential but falls short. I had high hopes that were not met. There are better options available.

Ate our evening meal here as we were staying at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Couldn’t have been nicer. We got a cocktail pitcher which was only £14.95 but we got over 6 glasses from it! Every course we ate was extremely tasty so we left very satisfied if a little full!! We had a wonderful meal and I’d highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back!

Arrived to day with 3 friends. Shown to table by a young lady. Very courteous,polite.Jugs of water were provided.Some time later appeared back asking for our order.We asked about the Christmas menu she was not sure,I will find out.(Really). She arrived back with a pad and read out out what was available.Honestly..10 days from Christmas and you do not have a menu.OK..What is the cost for 2 courses or 3.. EH....Will be back.. Decisions made. Wine ordered .Brought to the table.Not what I had ordered..Asked about this ...I am told we do not have this wine anymore..What you provided was more expensive...The meal was terrible.The vegetables were not cooked they were brick hard and for the turkey it was not certainly fresh..To charge £110.00 I think you want to look at your practises very carefully in the future.A very dissatisfied customer...Cheers.
