However, my experience a... read more As someone who openly identifies as queer, I often feel a bit of apprehension when exploring small rural towns like Millinocket, Maine. However, my experience at the Scootic Inn completely dispelled those worries. The staff made me feel safe, welcomed, and provided a delicious dining experience. Conveniently located near Baxter State Park and Mt. Katahdin, the Scootic Inn is just across from the Outfitters and Hostel, making it a perfect spot for Appalachian Trail hikers. The atmosphere struck a balance between quiet solitude for those seeking alone time and a friendly environment for hikers wanting to connect with others. The Scootic Inn has truly been one of the highlights of my hiking journey in Maine.
