Located in Dirleton, this restaurant has a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. The menu is varied and the Sunday lunch options are sufficient. The 3-course menu is reasonably priced. I dined in Deveau's conservatory, which had a nice and light decor. The mussel stew starter and haggis wellington were delicious. The slow-cooked lamb with berry sauce was very tasty, as was the breast of chicken stuffed with haggis wrapped in bacon with whiskey sauce. Don't miss out on trying the sticky toffee or caramelised fruit meringue for dessert. Overall, the food was excellent and the service was friendly.
My friends and I stayed at the hotel for a golfing weekend and we were extremely impressed with the overall service and quality of all our meals. We will definitely be coming back next year. Chris and his team go above and beyond to make sure that all customers are completely satisfied.
The Open Arms has a restaurant that offers fine Scottish cuisine. We had reserved a table for lunch with the family on a Sunday at Open Arms and were allocated a table in the Library. Whether it was the Sirloin Steak or the served lamb, all the dishes were delicious. For dessert, there was an excellent Sticky Toffee Pudding. The service was really good and fast, and we were pleased to have made the right choice with the restaurant. If you can plan your visit in advance, it is advisable to make a reservation, especially on weekends.
Decent Sunday roast beef being the special today. Chef taken great care with all of it (roasties, mash, parsnips, carrots, Yorkshire, cabbage). Starters a bit more standard but staff super friendly.
Super traditional, old style, family owned restaurant in a beautiful castle green location outside trendy North Berwick. Food is fine, service is friendly and the ambience is welcoming. It can get very hot in the brasserie area because of the big picture windows, but without them there is no view.
The Open Arms Restaurant received a mix of reviews, from slow service and poor quality starters to outstanding meals and excellent service. Although some felt the portion sizes were small for the price, others raved about the high-quality food and creative menu. The cozy atmosphere and beautiful setting opposite Dirleton Castle added to the overall experience. Despite some minor criticisms and slow service during busy times, many patrons enjoyed their visit and planned to return for more of the delicious fare. The restaurant's dedication to using local produce and the attentive staff were highlights for many guests.
