Guests rave about the delicious, beautifully presented meals, particularly the delightful Sunday lunch and brunch options like eggs Benedict. The wood-paneled dining room, accompanied by soft piano music, enhances the elegant yet comfortable atmosphere. The hotel is steeped in history as the former officers' mess for the 617 Squadron, and its well-equipped accommodations and picturesque gardens make it an ideal retreat. Friendly staff ensure a welcoming atmosphere, making this a must-visit for food lovers and history buffs alike.
An excellent hotel with history. the afternoon was lovely and the staff was amazing, could not do enough for them. a really beautiful place will come back
Although we visited the petwood many paintings we have not participated in Sunday lunch. Now we know that this was a serious failure! the two- or three-course lunch menu offers a good selection of dishes, including traditional roasts. we sat in the wood-panelled dining room with background music by a completed pianist on the wing. service was good and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. with two curses and three curses we felt that this was a good value given the quality of food and the environment.
Petwood is a lovely spot for afternoon tea, with very friendly and helpful staff. One downside is that there was no Christmas ambiance - no music or special events to set it apart from any other visit we've had.
The breakfast was delightful with a variety of options, and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely return for another stay.
I live only 20 minutes away, but was searching for a nice place to have a catch-up evening with my sisters, and Petwood did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and the evening meal was delicious.
