What SiKorgull doesn't like about Suttons Traditional Fish And Chips:
Very disappointing. Have been to this place many times over the years when passing through Wainfleet. Having bought some chips this week, I was very disappointed. The chips were fine, but the portion size was shockingly small on a ridiculously shallow tray, and about a third to a half what one would normally get elsewhere. The fish and chips at this restaurant are always top-notch, with generous portion sizes at reasonable prices. The service is friendly and efficient, making for a consistently pleasant dining experience. I am always a happy customer when dining here.
After ringing the morning bell, we stopped in for lunch at Suttons Traditional Fish and Chips. The aroma of beef dripping immediately had our mouths watering as we settled into the restaurant area. We decided to go for the lunch special which included fish, chips, mushy peas, bread and butter, and a cup of tea for 10.50, with an upgrade to a large cod for me. We also ordered a bowl of scraps on the side. The fish and chips were delicious, with the crispy batter revealing succulent cod inside. The fresh and flavorful cod, combined with the unreal crispiness of the batter and the savory beef dripping, made for an amazing dining experience. We couldn't resist loading our scraps with salt and vinegar and ended up eating the whole bowl despite our diet intentions. Suttons Traditional Fish and Chips is a hidden gem and definitely worth a visit.
Always great food. The girl who serves is just awesome and gorgeous. Cooked to order also. Top notch.

The chips were fine, but the portion size was shockingly small on a ridiculously shallow tray, and about a third to a half what one would normally get elsewhere. I ended up buying just this miniscule portion of chips at £2.70, as I simply just couldn't justify £8.30 for cod and chips. I understand that costs have risen recently, but has inflation got that bad, that a SMALL carton of mushy peas is now £1.50? They're still only 30p-ish in the supermarket, and you'd get 4 portions out of one of those. No longer is fish and chips from places like this affordable or justifiable, when other places are selling at much lower prices.
