Serendipity At The Priory

We booked last minute and were a bit hesitant as we were unfamiliar with Louth, but what a pleasant surprise! The charming building is equipped with a unique selection of retro furniture. Our group of 4 had our own private dining room with a view of the beautiful garden. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent, priced at £25 per person for 2 courses and coffee, which was a steal for the quality. I especially enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that we could bring our dog into the private dining area. If we lived closer, we would definitely become regulars. There is also parking available right outside, which is an added bonus.

We went last night to serendipity in priority for the mysterium tasting menu. we were also overnight in this beautiful, quirky hotel. first, the service. that was honestly the best service we have received in a restaurant. the personal is fantastic, very attentive, but...not invasive. we had our own private dining room, which was fantastic and the waiters somehow arrived on time to gather each of our tellers as soon as we were done with each cursor. I wanted to draw attention to the workers we met; tom makes the best cocktails and is very attentive, daniel lived the evening with his interesting conversation, ben was one of the most efficient waiters I've ever seen, and paul is one of the most beautiful men we've ever met and an incredible chef. we have 12 wonderful courses, among them 2 more palate. we had nipples and cale, smoked salmon, meatballs, fish cake, a ham dish, a cheese dish, cajau, ruckpartridge, chocolate orange brownie, lemon cheesecake and chai tee with millionaire shortbread. the food was cooked and my food restrictions were taken into account. third, our overnight. the room was beautiful and the bed was incredibly comfortable. it was clean and warm and the bath was huge! we have a huge, delicious frey in the morning, which perfectly ended our stay. Overall, I would say that everyone who loves good eating, unique experiences and a friendly atmosphere must visit this place. we have one of the best weeks and we will definitely be back!

Brilliant meal, brilliant service. the food was freshly prepared and very well presented. the service was excellent and very attentive, without being overlaid. the atmosphere is very personal, which makes for an overall excellent culinary experience. 5 stars round!

I don’t know where to start! The place is amazing, from the moment we were greeted by Daniel at the door . We were made to feel so welcome. Drinks in the bar, with the very knowledgable barman( sorry I think his name was Sam),...then shown though to our table in a little private room, just for the 4 of us. We were asked if the temperature was ok, if the music was too loud, they really wanted us to feel at home, and we did! As for the food…..just awesome, all 9 courses. I love the ethos of the place, the building, the enthusiasm of all the staff. The chef/owner came round at the end for a chat, just perfect. We ate mushroom tea, salmon with samphire, wild boar, shrimp hash, duck and popcorn salad, kiwi refresher, blue berry orange curd cheesecake, chocolate brownies, then a chocolate truffle. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you for an amazing evening!

I returned for another taster menu' this week. Lockdown had prevented me far far too long. As always the food and presentation was exceptional, I lost count of the courses after 7, waiting in anticipation for the next one. At the end of the meal...Paul came to speak to us and introduced the young man who had prepared/cooked most of the menu. Harry deserves recognition, every dish was delicious. You have some completion Paul even if you are overseeing him,. The waiters were attentive without encroaching on our privacy and all staff wore masks and kept social distance. The hotel is also a beautiful place to stay.
