What Kim M doesn't like about The Potting Shed:
The potting shed is a fab and I think reasonably priced. Tea for one, cake and cappuccino was just over £7.00. The cake was absolutely delicious. Best for a long time. Earl Grey and Lemon! Do try it!! The actual restaurant needs a makeover. It’s tired and not a particularly relaxing place to sit. Stand out were the staff...Keydell needs to look after them as they were fab. Shout out to all but particularly Lewis on t... View all feedback.
The weather in this area has been pretty grey and wet lately, so it was good to take advantage of a better day to visit the garden centre/nursery and we decided to lunch whilst we were there. The Potting Shed is bright and welcoming, and on a busy day, we were lucky to find a free table. There is an excellent varied regular menu, but we opted for two of the quiche daily choices which were very good. They came with well presented side salad. Friendly, efficient staff added to our experience and we will be back.

Cafe is in a separate building to the main garden centre and extremely busy when we visited on a Sunday before Christmas. Although there was a queue snaking from the cafe entrance, entry was managed by a member of staff who only admitted customers as tables became vacant. There were also sufficient staff to ensure tables quickly cleared, floor areas swept and tables served (food and drinks counter ordered). The reasonably priced menu wasn’t extensive (see my pics) and drinks served in disposable cups due to the xmas customer volume but I rated our visit as “excellent” overall mainly on the basis of how well run it was.
Helpful, friendly and a delight to visit. Had a delicious bacon, sausage and egg gluten free sandwich and a slice a gluten free Victoria sponge. Daughter has sausage roll and Angel cake. Coffee great too. Will definitely visit again
Very good selection of homemade food with mostly good quality the piece of bread pudding I had was large but dry, I suspect it had been hanging around a while) Having ordered our choice we then saw people being served the most amazing looking ploughman’s lunches on a huge tray each, unfortunately this was not listed on the menu so did not know about it until too late. Most prices are reasonable but I thought £3.50 for a milk shake was steep. Would still return and recommend.
