What robyng570 doesn't like about Cook And Indi's World Buffet:
The main foods were ok, each section like Italian and Chinese were all at-least edible. However there was a creepy older Asian guy walking back and forth, hovering over my friend and I making us feel uncomfortable. The deserts were absolutely disgusting every cake was hard because it had been sitting there all day. Put it this way. It’s a buffet and I never went back up for seconds of anything. Place was empty and I... View all feedback.
I recently revisited this restaurant and wanted to give them another review. The food is still very tasty with a wide variety of choices. However, the service was lacking during our meal. One staff member in particular was inattentive and seemed more focused on other tables than ours. When it came time to pay, there was confusion about the number of guests in our party and additional drink charges that were not ours. Despite these issues, I still believe this restaurant is worth a visit for its delicious food and desserts. I wish I could give them a half star rating, but overall, I would recommend this place.
If I could rate this restaurant with a negative 5, I would. It had been a while since my last visit, so I decided to give it another chance. The sauces tasted store-bought and not authentic. They were vile and unpleasant. The chicken seemed to be pre-cooked and reheated in the sauces, resulting in dry and flavorless meat. The desserts were clearly cheap and lacking in quality. The strawberry custard was more like unset Angel Delight. Anyone giving this place more than one star must have no taste buds. Was it worth nearly £10 for the food and a soft drink? Absolutely not. There are better buffet options out there, like Bombay Blue, Kings Lodge, and Viva Brazil. When asked if I had taken too much food, I politely agreed, but the truth was, the dry chicken was the worst part. The Korma and butter chicken did not taste authentic, and the naan bread was not authentic either. The Stroganoff was a complete disappointment. To make things worse, the loud Indian rap music was intrusive. Even though I enjoy rock and metal, the music should cater to the customers, not the staff.
I used to enjoy this restaurant, especially when dining with picky eaters. However, my recent experience was extremely disappointing. The chicken korma had a strange odor and was watery, the naan bread was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside, the pakora was stale and chewy, and the sushi tasted dry as if it had been left out for hours. My mother's coke was flat and she suspected the chicken on her pizza was off. I brought my parents here as a treat, but now I regret it. I take food hygiene seriously and cannot recommend this place. I will not be returning.
Jack of all cuisines, master of none. Some wings were average. All other dishes mediocre. Ice cream was good. Service was attentive, prompt friendly.
A couple of my friends had attended the World Buffet on Sauchiehall Street on a lads night and were meet by raw food, mouldy fruit and not so great service, so of course we HAD to to try the Renfield Street location to compare the two and it was amazing! I had expected a cramped, overly busy restaurant, with that buffet smell and as it was warm outside and the food is all cooked fresh and much of it in front of the customers I had expected it to be roasting! The place was perfect, our tables spotless and the temperature was just right. I really loved the decor and loved even more that the food majority of the food was kept in a separate room away from the seating area. The food itself was delicious and well labelled, being a veggie I always find I 'm stuck with rice, pasta and spicy veg however I completely gorged myself on sushi, a fresh salad bar, spring rolls, pizza and much more. I even got disappointed when I found out there was macaroni had over looked and I 'd totally over looked it! There was never too much or too little food being made and there was none of those big metal containers like at school dinners, everything was in small bowls and was refilled regularly to keep things fresh. I also liked the cameras you could watch the chefs cooking on which was a really nice touch. The chefs were also really helpful in telling us what was in things due to allergies The desert bar isn 't in with the main meal food or near the warm food, it 's out in the open but far away enough to avoid anyone brushing against or stray fluff, dirt or boogies landing in it. It also isn 't all that noticeable without looking for the signs, which is great if your with kids (or myself) who 'd happily bathe in the chocolate fountain without dinner first. My one main complaint was that there didn 't seem to be enough desert bowls for everyone and I felt, well actually I probably did, had to fight a army of 5 year olds to get one, they couldn 't reach the skewers for the marshmallows and fruit though so I think in the end I got the last laugh! Theres also no assigned tongs for things, well there is a colour code however it 's not advertised and it took me to my 2nd, 3rd maybe 4th to get it, I even went for a 5th I think just to be sure. Over all we had a great time, with great service and really great prices and have already set another night out there just to make sure we 're giving it the right review.
