What joshg06 doesn't like about The Barley Mow:
Poor quality food. Service also extremely below where it should be. Menu says Homemade burger however it’s quite literally a burger from the freezer at a supermarket. Most desserts also are not home made and just shop bought. Restaurant was very quiet and I would... View all feedback. What gfsc5 likes about The Barley Mow:
This is a lovely old thatched inn with lots of ancient timber beams inside. The host when we visited was quirky but friendly and helpful. Our overall experience was a tad Faulty Towers, though. Drinks were very good. My fish and chips was a good size although parts of the batter could have done with a tiny bit more cooking time. The fish itself was very large. read moreNestled in the heart of Dorset, this historical thatched inn offers a blend of charm and rustic appeal but has recently faced scrutiny. While some guests rave about the hearty homemade dishes and vibrant atmosphere, others lament declining food quality and service standards. The venue’s coziness has suffered due to neglect, with reports of a cold interior and poorly maintained outdoor areas. Despite the occasional quirky service and impressive drink selections, many patrons feel the establishment does not provide the value they expect. To restore its former glory, attention to detail and customer care seem essential for this local gem.
