During our holiday in Devon, we visited the Village Gasthof and have been coming to the Village Inn for the past few years. Although it is a local pub, we are always welcomed warmly and the food is consistently excellent. The portions are generous and delicious. Thanks, we will definitely be returning next year! renter suspected that we were people who had made a booking for a person in our party who had a wheelchair. we weren't. the food was in order, but could not wait to go, no dessert no longer from our money great start to vacation. View all feedback.
Our family were on holiday in the area and went in for an evening meal we sat in the beer garden which was lovely as the sun was out. we didn't have to wait long for are meals which were very tasty and generous in...size. We decided to make two more visits before heading home and each time the food was so nice my only issue was I couldn't fit in a desert, some of our family did have deserts and they said they were lovely..
Went into what looked like a nice country pub as I was craving a steak, walked up to the bar to look at the menu only to find a most unwelcome resident customer staring at me and exclaimed oh my gawd! as if I was...an Alien. I admit I have longish hair and a beard but this is not The guy just carried on staring at me making me feel most uncomfortable indeed. The barman did not even greet me just served the local so after perusing the menu for a few minutes I thought better of ordering any food and left. Not a pleasant experience at all put me in mind of something out of an American movie.
Went for a family meal to the pub, we received a friendly welcome. The food was amazing and the access for wheelchair users was fantastic. Very pleased
This is a no frills traditional English pub in the village of Ashwater. The food is what I'd describe as good hearty pub food. The pie was excellent and whilst my wife wanted something smaller, her jacket potato was far from that!
We went as a family, children adults. We had a long table which was perfect it was at the end of the pub away from the main bar so we didn't have to worry about disturbing anyone. The food was excellent and service...was very good. The ice creams were absolutely huge!!
