I’m not a regular, it has to be something special, and this place is. Really relaxed, music in background great, staff second to none, and the food was the mutts nuts, after going to a fair few places for food we have an easy winner in the malt shovel, I had the belly pork meal, and my wife had the lasagne, garlic sourdough bread, and we both absolutely loved it. What User doesn't like about The Malt House:
We were in Seaton for the weekend and popped in here on the Friday night for drinks with a view to going back on Saturday evening for a meal. The place was very quiet with only a handful of people and we were were told...due to an issue in the kitchen no food was available all weekend. It was nice place but lacking in atmosphere as there were so few people in, for a Friday night it felt very strange. View all feedback.
Place is shut and looks to have been since December 2023. Christmas decorations still up.
Great food but flipping freezing! Feel sorry for the staff!
The Burger was the driest chicken burger i've ever had, even with the realish it was dry. Bland food, more flavour in Wetherspoons burger and that saying something. The chicken fillet was to big for the bun and just looked a mess. Staff were polite and helpful.

Such a shame the pub had to close, visited 3 times in 2 days and the service was incredible considering the staff were aware of losing their jobs Good luck to all of the staff now looking for employment !
