As a family we have been patrons over many decades, mother in law in particular only for us to be told ‘sharply’ that we couldn’t sit at a round table for six we were three. I explained mother in law had mobility issues to be told ‘it was only three steps’. Yes she was correct, the miserable waitress/owner, however there were no seats on the first higher level hence taking the lower larger table! On our previous visit where we had a full fish meal the male we were served by reluctantly give us water with our meal legally they did as they have to but we were given the smallest glasses! Once bitten twice shy but we did try again for Mum’s benefit. Now twice treated badly so we will not return and will be going elsewhere so many other lovely venues to choose in the town. We like Dukes Elizabeth Hotel and will suit Mum with her needs. Be warned… poor customer service, expensive and rude owners!
