We stayed in stable 3, which has a stable door that allows for plenty of fresh air and light. The window also opened wide, which was nice during the night. The emergency light above the door was extremely bright green and lit up most of the room throughout the night. The bathroom was spacious, but the water pressure in the shower was very low and the curtain in front of the large window was quite see-through, although it overlooked greenery with limited to no access (I believe and hope). The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the complimentary bottle of water and the coffee-making facilities. The breakfast options of freshly cooked food were good, but there was very limited variety available otherwise during breakfast; there was no fresh fruit or yogurt, only cereal and milk, plus apple or orange juice. Breakfast was included in our stay, but I would not have paid the £15 that is charged if it weren't included.
The staff at this restaurant are extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is quiet and picturesque, with amazing food.
Well we was pleasantly surprised. Having read some of the other reviews. I was a little worried. We had a most enjoyable evening. We were greeted by really nice staff. The place was lovely and friendly. The food was second to none. My starter of goats cheese hubby had the squid) was divine. My loin of pork was gorgeous. Hubby's steak he said was the best he had, had in ages. Having eaten all that I thought I'd have the champagne jelly. That never touched the sides. It was scrumptious. I can't fault this place at all. Nothing was too much trouble. I shall tell my friends neighbours. Who I know haven't visited before. I look forward to going again. I will also add that being fairly new to the area we have eaten in quite a few places both locally and further afield. All have been either disappointing or nothing special. We both were very impressed with the customer service and the food this evening. So thank you Lake View Manor for making our Valentines a lovely memorable evening.
We had a family lunch, eight of us, plus a two year old, on August Bank Holiday Monday. Having only booked it at breakfast time having eyed the lunchtime special menu, we considered ourselves lucky to get in there even more so having actually sampled the quality of the food served. At £12.95 for a two course, £15.95 for three, in such beautiful surroundings, one tends not to expect too much of the service or food, here that is an entirely erronious assumption. The menu is English, perhaps with a more generous choice than you would expect, in our party the roast pork and scampi proved particularly popular, both proving to be best of breed in terms of presentation, flavour and value. Some of us had starters, some sweets, all portions were generous and we did not have a dud dish between us eight entirely satisfied diners is good going, especially when, including a few (mostly non alcoholic) drinks the total bill came to less than £140.In keeping with the surroundings and food was the service, professional, friendly and at the same time unobtrusive, all in all this proved to be a fantastic eating out experience.
