I have used Chinese Kitchen for nearly four years now and have never been disappointed.

However, the food we received last night did not match the r... read more I chose this takeout based on the positive Trip Advisor reviews, as we hadn't eaten there in years. However, the food we received last night did not match the reviews, so I wanted to share my experience to balance them out. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken, Salt and Pepper Chicken, Chili Black Bean Chicken, and Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls. Unfortunately, all of the dishes had dry, overcooked, and chewy chicken. Some pieces were okay, but overall it seemed like a mix of old and new batches of chicken were used, which was not appetizing. The Chili Black Bean Chicken tasted more sweet and tomato-based than having a black bean flavor, which I did not enjoy but my husband did. The Salt and Pepper Chicken also was not good - many pieces lacked flavor and seemed to be hastily mixed with salt and spices. Overall, it was a disappointment and a waste of £35, most of which ended up in the bin. It's a shame, as the food used to be fantastic when this restaurant first opened - perhaps it has changed ownership since then.

Cooked to perfec... read more Ordered here because of my usual Chinese takeout was closed. And I’m so happy I did best Chinese in exmouth by far and I’ve eat at all of them. Cooked to perfection, hot on arrival and a added bonus of speedy delivery in less than 30 minutes. Highly recommend and I will order again for sure.
