The Terrace - East Cowes

We ordered our food and drinks, and while the food was delicious, they had run out of tea spoons for our hot drinks. For the next 30 minutes, I observed guests either using their knife or fork or being given dessert spoons. The restaurant has great potential to be excellent, but it needs to improve its staffing and communication. Perhaps a notice should be posted advising customers that tea and cake are only available after 3pm, as I saw several people waiting in line only to be turned away.

We opted for outdoor seating as the inside was fully booked. It appeared that the staff was stretched thin, as only one person was working during most of our visit. Our order took a while to arrive (20 minutes) and when our drinks finally came (another 10 minutes later), one drink was missing. The food quality was decent, but the prices were high considering what we received. Overall, the service was a disappointment.

The restaurant is located in a gorgeous space that was once used as a dance hall and later as a chapel. The service is very polite, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is fantastic. What more could you ask for?

Lovely service, the afternoon tea was a little different but lovely lots of delicious food had afternoon tea for two, Ham plate, and coronation chicken. Have read below but did not find any negatives as listed, lovely location great service great food. It was very busy.
