Very nice place to see some farm animals and eat a good breakfast. I ordered a hamburger that was really tasty, with a very big portion of delicious fries. There's also a shop with food and gifts, and a small playground for children. Friendly staff and fast service. Recommended. View all feedback.
What jdtayloruk doesn't like about La Hogue Farm Shop Cafe:
The experience was good with the cafe. They’ve put up a barrier. This barrier stops you from seeing the cakes until almost ordering. This isn’t helpful maybe a board saying what cakes they have. In this hot weather if you’ve got allergies or can’t manage... View all feedback.
We love to come here for our welcome home lunch and treat our friend who picks us up from the airport. Love their tea and sweets. This time we had the tomato and chutney sandwich with cheese and a side of chips. Our friend had the full English. Delicious as always.
A great dog-friendly restaurant to visit on your way to Norfolk. The paninis were delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. The only negative for me was the somewhat boastful historical explanation of the name on the blackboard near the tills. It might not be very appealing to international visitors. But overall, it was a fantastic discovery!
I went to this restaurant just before Christmas with my daughter. We had a hearty breakfast before heading out for a walk at Wicken Fen. The cafe staff were friendly and accommodating for those with celiac disease. However, we were both disappointed with the presentation of the breakfast. The portions were small and didn't fill the plate as expected for a full breakfast. My gluten-free breakfast included 1 egg, bacon, beans, and gluten-free toast. A flat white and an orange juice cost over £6. While I have heard good things about the quality of the ingredients used, I won't be returning for breakfast anytime soon.
The food is of good quality and well presented at this restaurant. However, they have a strict no substitution policy, meaning you have to pay for any changes to your order. This can end up being expensive. I haven't found any other restaurants nearby with a similar policy, so this often makes this place my second choice.
Could not understand why such a quality farm shop stocked only one local cheese. For example, there was French and Somerset Brie on sale, but not Suffolk Brie which is far superior. Shameful
