Costa Coffee - East Cambridgeshire

I don 't get this brainwashed idiocy. This is not a direct criticism of Costa but ar all these Emperors New Clothes places. Because forsomebizarre readon my wife has to have a coffee with a fancy name we ended up at this place for breakfast . For the same price i could have had a proper breakfast in Sainsburys with a hot drink that was actually hot. Instead a cardboard tasting bread sandwich with essence of cheese and ham and a tepiddrink.Sheep!!

After walking around Ely early on a Monday morning,needed coffee to warm me up also has a toasted tea cake. They came together at the same time so no waiting around I was asked if I wanted jam and butter great! Needed the toilet later on which was clean. Yes I will be going back coffee was great as was the tea cake. The staff were friendly and helpful and one had a set of reindeer antlers on

My friends and I visited Costa in Ely and were disappointed to find dirty tables with used cups and wrappers left behind by previous customers. The staff seemed unprofessional, chatting amongst themselves instead of attending to customers. In the future, we plan to visit Starbucks or Silver Oak at the market place in Ely instead.

Not all Costa locations are created equal, and what sets them apart is the team that works there. The team at this particular Costa location is professional, polite, engaging, and attentive. I would give them a 10/10 rating.

Surprised to see the reviews of Costa Ely on here as I regular customer I find the young staff to be very welcoming, always ready to take my order and incredibly chatty. It is clear to see they are often understaffed but they always do their best with many regulars (like me) looking forward to our visits. I hope these young adults are note put off by these reviews (which I do not think should call them out by name) and carry on with the great work they do in a challenging customer facing role.
