Popped in again for fish chips fritters. Food was DELICIOUS. Best fish and chips in Kilmarnock. Staff are nice friendly. Covid measures in place. Only 2 in shop at one time with masks. Orders can be phoned in picked up. View all feedback.
What martinrS3515LC doesn't like about Plaice To Be:
Today was my first visit to this restaurant after hearing about it on social media. The staff were friendly and provided good service. However, the fish supper and single fish dish we ordered were disappointing. The fish was greasy and had too much batter, with bones found in both dishes. The chips were also not that great, and even after asking for salt and vinegar, we couldn't taste it. The way the salt and vinegar... View all feedback.
Made the trip down to killie on recommendation, sadly this was no where near the standard expected. To me the chips seemed under cooked. The salt and vinegar was rationed and the fish was full of batter and a lot of Bone and pretty tasteless.
Best chippy in Scotland! Everything is just perfect and it is easy to see why Jo and her team have gained so much popularity Go and enjoy!
Very poor service, they are very specific about collection times but they mean nothing- I was told 6.10pm and she eventually brought it to the window at 6.25pm I get they are busy but be realistic Last time I phoned I was put on hold for 5minutes and when I eventually hung up and called back the staff member didn’t believe me. Plenty of other chippys in the area
This is the smallest sausage supper I have had in years. It consisted of 2 small sausages and a small handful of chips. It is outrageous to call this a supper. I only tried this chip shop because I was passing by. I will not be returning.
The way the salt and vinegar were applied meant that some parts of the dishes received more than others, leading to an uneven flavor. We won't be returning to this restaurant, as we believe Wee Hurrie is much better in comparison.
