Golden Star - East Ayrshire

I was truly disappointed with the meal I received last night. The sweet and sour sauce was terrible and not enjoyable at all, the chicken balls were overly doughy and unappetizing. I won't even comment on the rest of the dish. I have been a loyal customer of this Chinese restaurant for a long time without any issues, but with this low standard, I will not be returning. I called to express my disappointment, and was informed that if I had called earlier in the evening, they would have taken care of it. Unfortunately, it was late and I didn't live nearby, so it couldn't be resolved at 10:45pm. I don't like writing negative reviews, but when I mentioned that I would do so, I was met with a casual response. I just don't want others to experience the same disappointment.

Good and reliable. Not a fan of their sauce based dishes as I feel the flavour isn't great but everything else is sound. Always had a friendly welcome and service.

Good food. Staff friendly and accommodating to your needs. Portion size good. Never had an issue.

The food was not good, and it seemed like there were some rock chips in it that were not fresh.

We had a wonderful experience at the Golden Star restaurant. The food was incredible, with fast service and very fresh ingredients.
