We began our meal with a trio of sauces (tzatziki, tyrokafteri, and melizanosalata) along with some fried zucchini as appetizers. For our main courses, we chose the grilled seafood platter and the grilled Angus beef strip loin. Everything was absolutely delicious! What Benny Kassulke doesn't like about Ikanos:
"Old school" steakhouse with minimal frills, so the food has to be shiny! The food was solid, the waitress struggled and our total time in the restaurant was close to 90 minutes - way too slow considering they weren't busy.
The service was outstanding. The appetizers were enjoyable, especially the fried zucchini tartare with sea bass. However, the bread used in the lobster roll was disappointing when compared to the fantastic bread we had before our meal. The gazpacho didn't appeal to our tastes. On the other hand, the dessert, a mini chocolate mousse, was excellent.
The music coming from the speaker was a bit too loud. However, the service and food were exceptional. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere. While it is on the pricey side, it’s a great choice for an anniversary, and I really appreciated the variety of seafood offered. My family thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The dining experience was excellent, with outstanding service and a beautiful atmosphere. The restaurant was very clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
Everything was just okay barring a couple items. Forgot to bring us our salad til I asked twice. Had to ask for a clean plate when I was brought one with food still caked onto it. Price was very high for what it was. The lobster tail was served on a bed of sea salt and the creme fraiche and little bit of sturgeon caviar on top slid off into pure salt ruining any of the subtlety of flavour. The filet mignon was done very well and the creativity of the roasted vegetable plate was good.
Very good. We were happily surprised with the quality of the food. The service could be better... but I think its only because they had a full night. Overall Awesome. I would definitively go back.
