we have booked a table with friends, we enjoyed the relaxed and quiet atmosphere on the upper floor where we could catch up. the service was great, the staff were present, but did not float, eating was absolutely delicious and adapted as we had asked. will be visited again! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Picco D'italia:
Service just insanely slow. Took 35 minutes to order and then food just wasn't anything special. Small portion sizes. Won't be back sadly was hoping it would be really good. View all feedback.
My second time here and food was amazing. Had figs bruschetta and the spicy pizza with nduja on it. Honestly can’t fault a thing. Customer service is spot on, very polite waiting staff. Can’t wait to go back again.
The food was excellent, truly authentic Italian, and the cocktails were delicious for really reasonable prices! The ambience was really lovely for a birthday dinner, we 100% recommend!
Good honest pizza and pasta. Nothing fancy. Good wine list and cool Peroni
Best Italian I have had in Durham. The ambience is very welcoming and service was great. Highly recommended, will visit again.
I am so sorry to write a negative review, although we were very disappointed when we visited pico d’italia in durham recently. the first impressions are not great, but we were booked online, so went on with the meal. they were very accommodating-I had originally booked the day before mistake, so had to change the booking that was not a problem. we were also 20 minutes early (before opening) staff allowed us in. that is where the positive end I fear. first, the toilets are terrible. really not good. dirty fittings that have set me off immediately. the general decor was under standard-it needs a refresh. the main thing that attracted us to this restaurant was the view of the city of the windows we had asked for a window seat. Unfortunately, it would not have played any roles anyway, as the windows were all vaporized so that they could not see the windows replaced with all-a characters. the male waiter was very attentive, but no one else really spoke to us although we were the only people throughout the restaurant all the time! what was extremely unrequired (and we all agreed on it) was a young waitress, who literally overcame us all the time. I think she probably didn't learn the roll where she could stand, but she literally stood behind my shoulder all the time. we felt that we could not talk properly and it made us all feel very uncomfortable. it really ruined the ambiente. poor girl, but management please give her some more training. eating was not great other than the chips that were beautiful. the karbonara was tasteless bland (3 of us from 6 had said this dish we all said the same) the garlauchbrot was nice, but hardly a brot it was the whole crust! unfortunately we would not come back unless the dinge were significantly improved. very disappointed. we ate at another Italian yesterday evening near pico I wrote a 5-star review on this restaurant on trip advisor. that is the way to do it! it can be done.
