The Chairman - Durban

This club is known for live music scenes and amazing decor, probably the coolest jazz bar in Durban. The atmosphere will remember a proverbial joint with a swirl. From vinyl album covers as part of the decor John Coltrane, to the amazing photos and sculptural pieces. There is also a room with church benches that fits with the decor! Simple and amazing place with the most beautiful staff!

Place for live jazz, good food, great hospitality, like you in the door from door to waiter to host, best service. Excellent live jazz performances.

An absolutely fantastic art space, this. It must not be regarded as a bar only. The Chairman lends itself to amazing creativity, excitement and lots of fun.

Lovely place with an eclectic crowd. Great live music and atmosphere, the service is top notch, they really go the extra mile.. The hot wings and pizza are delicious. Missing one star because all they serve are pricey craft beers that don't even taste that good. Some mass market beer could definitely make a difference.

This place is one of the best in town from what I can see. The food is truly outstanding and the vibe is unparalleled. There are quite many locals here and the place is fantastically hipster like. You won’t get anything like this if not in Shoreditch, Berlin or Williamsburg. Only downside: the staff will “check in” with you every ten seconds to either remove small items, ask if you want to order more drinks or clean the table. That’s just too much attention and one would rather prefer to eat and drink. Overall quite an experience and a highly recommended and rare place here. Come visit!
