Royal Marine - Dunoon

What a fantastic place. We arrived here on a dreary day and, staying only one night, picked a basic double room. Jeezo, it was better than my house. Huge room with amenities, a lovely view of the rear of the building, and spotlessly clean. A shame the kitchen wasn't available so we had to send out for food. Nothing beats a real coal wood fire in the bar. Fantastic place and can't wait to go back. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

Great looking building from outside, inside its quite dated and cold in many areas. Family rooms are good size, large radiators in the rooms but aren't on. Only given a small electric heater in your room. Didn't try the food but prices seemed rather steep. Nice coal fire in the bar area. Rooms are pretty expensive for what they are, a serious upgrade needed to modernise the hotel. Handy for the ferry terminal. Noteworthy details: No lifts, not suitable for those with mobility issues. Arran room was lovely, clean and very spacious. Breakfast was nice, hot and very filling on a cold wet day. Food drinks: Breakfast was very filling, hot and plenty too eat. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view

Unfortunately never got to stay at the hotel as major flooding in Scotland halted our journey. From the moment we booked we felt cared for by Dylan his team. We were attending a wedding at 3pm and when we called and told them this they said early check in wasn’t an issue! We later called to ask if an iron was available in the room? we were told not as standard but would organise one for us “as no one wants to attend a wedding creased after a long journey” today we called to tell them we wouldn’t be making it as stuck in Port Glasgow and we were having to head home to Essex. Dylan called later that evening to make sure we were okay and that we had somewhere to stay. Couldn’t fault at all and is lovely to know genuine people still exist care.
