Food and location on teh beach were great. The owner was great at making 2 maericans feel at home that spoke no french. Guided us to two great menu choices and the service throughout the meal was excellent. It was late on Sunday night when...we were leaivng and I asked to buy a bottle of water (non in the hotel room) whihc he did but refused to charge us for teh 2 liter bottle he provided. What Alain Turpin doesn't like about Le Bistrot de la Plage:
Friendly service, good food. We went to dinner and were lucky to get a table outside because it was a nice, warm evening. Service was fast and friendly. The food was good. Adults had shells. Just eat a delicious Moule marinière and my husband had a Plateau de fruits de mer! It's amazing. In any case you recommend seeing for yourself!
We fell in here on a wet Friday night. We asked you open, said yes, but Koch wouldn't be here until 7.00. We had a drink and only when we looked at the menu we knew it was not open until 7.00. The meal was nice, my husband went for the fixed price menu at 25 euros and I had the Boullibaise. The waiters were so friendly that everything was fine that we enjoyed the wine we had ordered as well as the meal. I would recommend it to everyone
Walked in for a mid-week lunch after a walk along the promenade. Very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere, good customer service. We had 'Menu du midi en semaine ' (main dessert) for 12.90 eur per person and a bottle of white wine. Everything was good.
After a very challenging trip to Dunkirk....stuck in traffic...hence late ferry...horrific weather .. confusion with booking into our over night hotel .. Lovely restaurant beautiful fresh food.. Lots of choice, helpful staff so nice not to be rushed as can be the case in the...UK and obviously a very popular choice with locals .. Loved it ! Merci beaucoup and as we arrived a rainbow appeared : ignore any negative reviews and try this restaurant.
