Quirky homely little pub. Option for indoor and outdoor dining. Plenty of menu options, and decent portion sizes. Reasonably priced, friendly and attentive staff. Definitely worth a visit View all feedback.
What Charlie H dislikes about The Local:
Went to the local yesterday for a drink .we had heard great reviews.we were asked by a unpleasant young staff member had we booked we said we only wanted drinks .she replied only a table if your were having food . Is the so called local a pub or just a restaurant. She did us a favor we called to Foley's bar next door lovely pint of Guinness there and very nice staff . View all feedback.

Had Sunday lunch here and at least was able to get something with potato and vegetables as opposed to chips and salad which seems to be everywhere else and also everything else on this menu. The Roast Beef with veg and potatoes was only available on the specials board so may not be a regular everyday item. All three of us had it and it was OK. It didn't seem like the beef was cut off a fresh hot joint but more likely heated in microwave and some gravy over the top. Having said that, there was plenty of food. The staff need to be trained in what is and isn't celiac friendly. This is really almost a common sense thing and staff should know this information. The price of lunch also at seems to be part of the great reset after lockdown, up from the average Sunday lunch of around or a increase. All the burgers (lots) were priced at which is a ridiculous price but if your willing to pay it then places will keep charging it. Other than that, it was fine I suppose.
Stopped here on my way to Wexford and nicest soup and toasted sandwiches so nice we Stopped on the way back too and staff are so nice .
It was recommended to us and the food was gorgeous, the staff was lovely. Highly recommend this it for food and drinks.
This is a great pub. Tourists would love it. I got a pot of tea and a chicken salad sandwich. They also do hot meals. Very busy with a great buzz.
The Gastro Pub offers a mix of traditional pub fare like burgers and steaks, served with chips but no salad. With a cozy atmosphere and helpful staff, it's a great spot for a filling meal. However, some customers felt rushed to eat their food and prices were a bit high for what was served. The venue is praised for being child-friendly, with ice cream for the little ones. Overall, it's a welcoming pub in Dungarvan that caters to a variety of tastes and preferences.

Truly a great Irish pub, with fantastic food, beer, atmosphere and music. Loved the Thursday night session, amazing musicians.

Stopped by for food today while travelling through dungarvan and found a gem of a pub. Had dinner 2 adults and 2 kids and will definitely be back again. Pub is cosy spotless and the food was amazing and well priced. Staff are brilliant also . Loved this place.
Went for Traditional Irish music and it didn't disappoint, excellent musicians and great atmosphere, gets VERY busy
The Local in Dungarvan is an absolute gem! The food is outstanding, the hake and monkfish goujons, which were cooked to perfection—crispy, fresh, and bursting with flavour sercved with chips and salad The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. Service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure everything was just right. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service you receive. On a sunny day, the option to sit outside adds to the charm, making it a great spot to enjoy the good weather while savouring your meal. Highly recommended!
