Nicolls - Dundee City

We caught up with a few friends from out town tonight and was recommended Nicolls. Was greeted by a lovrly young blonde girl very bubbly personality who recommended a few dishes, building is fantastically impressive and food was delicious will definitely be back for the...service food and welcoming atmosphere , thanks again thoroughly enjoyed .

Me and my partner really enjoyed our food from here, there were plenty of options to choose from and the food was fresh, hot, well presented and didn't take long to come at all. The service was also just as excellent. Would recommend to anybody...looking for somewhere to eat in the area.

I’ve been to Nicolls a few times even recently and always had great service, hence my willingness to return. However this time I wasn’t overly pleased with our service. I had booked in advanced for our table of 4 however ended up adding an...extra child to our booking which again I phoned in advance to do which obviously hadn’t been passed on as there was only a table of 4 for 5 of us and was told there wasn’t any larger tables although we’d precooked. Food was great as always but we waited an hour for our meals and the restaurant wasn’t overly busy and we were not a huge booking. This may not be a big issue to some but the last time I was in (which was only in may/June) I had been served and finished my meal including desserts within the hour which is why especially with a young child I was eager to come back. But this time due to having 3 grumpy children after waiting an hour for mains we didn’t even bother to look at desserts. Having a 1 year old with me who was actually getting really quite grumpy and restless being strapped in a highchair with no food so he didn’t understand why he was in there this was not ideal. Especially considering I had been before and service was super quick I had expected similar this time.

I felt very welcomed when I entered the restaurant and was impressed with their adherence to Covid regulations. The staff were very accommodating with my 18-month-old daughter, even suggesting I order her messy favorite meal without worry about cleaning up. This made me feel at ease. The food was delicious, with the adults enjoying the salt and pepper chicken followed by desserts. My daughter loved the macaroni as well, making it a win-win. The service was great and we felt well taken care of. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant, as both my daughter and I had a great time. Thank you again.

I visited this restaurant today for a meal. The food was fantastic and the staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. I cannot praise them enough. I highly recommend paying a visit. The COVID protocols were also well implemented.
