Squire's Italian And Catering - Dundalk
Squire's Italian And Catering
Description
Squire’s offers a nostalgic, homestyle Italian dining experience in old Dundalk with a spacious, welcoming interior and ample parking. Renowned for its flavorful red sauce and traditional dishes like veal piccata, ribs, and stuffed shells, the kitchen prides itself on scratch-made quality. The pizza, while divisive—some find it nostalgic with good sauce and pepperoni, others criticize the dough and occasional burn—remains a local staple. Service shines, especially during private events, with attentive staff ensuring a memorable visit. Though some sides may lack seasoning, Squire’s charm, solid food, and friendly atmosphere make it a worthy stop for casual and special occasions alike.

Whether you choose takeout or dining in, this restaurant offers excellent Italian cuisine. The pizza is especially popular and a favorite among patrons. Additionally, there is a small bar on the premises.
I was here for a rehearsal dinner for my daughter's wedding. I hadn't been here in years it has completely changed. The dinning room is expanded and much larger. Upstairs is a good size private dining room with its own kitchen and bar. Absolutely perfect setup for a private event. Out group of about 30 had our own waitresses and bartender and they were the best! Very friendly and did a fantastic job taking care of us. Our buffet included Stuffed shells, pork loin, lemon chicken, roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables. I had everything except the pork and it was very good. The chicken wasn't dry at all, which has been my experience in other venues, and the flavor was great. Loved the roasted potatoes! The veggies were a little bland but good. Overall, five stars for the service and 4.5 for the food. I highly recommend for a private event. I plan to visit again to sample the rest of the menu.
Old Dundalk, old Baltimore area favorite for pizza, Italian, ...great bar too. It embodies the past and present of this blue collar, old industry city. It's a large place in the old downtown with plenty of parking behind it. Big space for families, sports teams, or other events. The pizza is good...different. Good sauce. Their special is great but so is a regular cheese pie. The pasta dishes are great. A different type of old style Italian with smooth red marinara. Not fancy...homestyle. Good manicotti. Good eggplant parmigiana. Good. Last the bar is an old but nice one with pretty average beers with a rotating craft. I'd beg them to get some of the nearby local brews from Key for instance. Partner...and help each other out. Squires is good. I'll go again when I'm in Dundalk.
The pizza is really good. I haven't tried anything else but the service can tighten up a bit, the young women that answer the phone don't know much about customer service.
This was my first visit to Squire's and I must say I was left with an uncertain feeling. I ordered a bowl of Cream of Crab soup and an order of Crab Toast. The waitress was very pleasant and personable. The ambiance was very low key and minimal noise. I would say use your own discretion to visit.
