The room was charming, and I enjoyed a won... read more I hiked to the historic Doyle Hotel from the trail this past Sunday and had a fantastic night away from the outdoors. The room was charming, and I enjoyed a wonderfully hot shower. It felt special to stay in a hotel I've heard so much about in various Appalachian Trail hiking books. The host was great, and I appreciated that the hotel is in the midst of renovations.

They are currently undergoing some construction work scheduled to be completed by Thanksgiving. We truly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, enhanced by the attentiveness of our waitress and the owner. My friend kicked things off with a specialty cocktail that was made to perfection. She ordered a burger on a pretzel roll, accompanied by delicious fries, and yes, she generously shared some with me! I chose the club sandwich, which was a weekly special, along with some fresh, crisp asparagus. We definitely plan to return as customers soon!

We were curious about the history of the place, so Donald showed us a binder filled with pictures—very interesting! He also shared details about the renovations that have taken place since January. While I can't comment on the rooms, I can say that the food was excellent and the new bar is absolutely stunning.

Was great to stay in the hotel that I've read about in so many AT hiking books. Great host, hotel inprocess off being renovated.

Did the trick... Older hotel with lots of history. Rooms were quint but after hiking and sleeping on the ground; the beds were very comfortable. Food in the bar... read more Did the trick... Older hotel with lots of history. Rooms were quint but after hiking and sleeping on the ground; the beds were very comfortable. Food in the bar downstairs was great! Had the World Famous Doyle Dog ... Fried hotdog with all thetrimmings and fries!
