What User doesn't like about Mooon Cafe:
Our Engineer, my husband & I stumbled in this restaurant while looking for a place to have lunch. Since we love Mexican food, we decided to try this place out. Upon entering the restaurant, a strong odour welcomed us. It was probably because of the spices of the food but I hope they'd make an effort to at least lessen it.We ordered their Nachos Supreme (which is not one of their all time favorites according to their... We love their food. Its very delicious yet very affordable. No wonder a lot students hang out in this place. Their mexican food are superb.
We go there often. Mooon Cafe (yes, 3 Os) is actually a chain, and there is one at Robinson's Place Mall, in Dumaguete, though we prefer the looks of the one by the Boulevard, just across from Silliman University. It's "Mexican inspired" and that means not exactly Mexican, though you'll recognize most of the dishes as Mexican (or Tex-Mex). Just great stuff at a great price. Be sure to get a pitcher of the Sun Cooler. This should be the first place you eat here, because you'll want to go back after trying some others. Meanwhile, I would also try Mafioso, also near the Boulevard, on Santa Catalina Street If you like coffee, and notice we have no Starbucks, don't fret, because Bo's Coffee, right in the Boulevard, just half a block from Silliman and at the mall, is a chain here that is very close to Starbucks quality. You can relax in the Boulevard location and watch the ferries on the ocean and the tricycles and buses on Rizal Boulevard.

Ate here many times lunch and dinner, never dissapointed always have good fare at a reasonable price.
First i am not a tourist, i live here so my view might be a bit slanted towards that fact. i see eateries in three categories. good food and good prices of which nevas brick oven heads the list but gabbys and bethel hotel are contenders.if you want more peace and quiet, probably good food, but no doubt higher prices then the resorts going south from dumagete city along the coast are probably good bets.if you are tourist wanting the action places then rizal blvd is the place to go on the seaside of dumaguete city. these places charge too much, some have really questionable quality and service, but you can play beer pong, watch other tourists, watch the ferrys come and goso moon cafe is in my opinion more for tourists. they push their mexican menu which in my opinion is very sad stuff. (the only mexican dish you can get here is a bag of tostitos from lee plaza and some salsa and take it home)today i had pork ribs which had four ribs, major serving size and very tender, but no charcoaling flavor and the sauce was almost non existent (lord bryons ribs are much much better but half the serving size and hard to find)tatski (my wife) had chicken adobo which she said was very good but she is happy with small serving sizes. you could hold all the chicken in the palm of one hand, amazing contrast to generous size of the pork rib serving.moon gets good reviews, service has always been good, the mexican food not worthy of the name, not sure about the rest except for todays experience
