I'm a big fan of Chicken Inato, and Atong Kamalig does it very well. They serve a lot of it, so it's always fresh off the grill. A side of rice and a cold San Miguel - makes for a great meal. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Atong Kamalig Chicken Inasal:
The food was greasy and the service quite unprofessional. The waitress didn't know the menu or what was available and we go served a can with mould on it. Would not recommend. View all feedback.
Confuse them sizzling pork not with sizzling sisig! Yesterday we were in atong kamalig, near the sea and the pier. the place is popular with a beautiful ambiente. we ordered sizzling sisig and sizzling squid. sizzling sisig is a traditional filipino dish, which is served from chopped pork parts (e.g. face, snuck, cheek and ohr) and chicken liver, in which is usually served in a spicy lazy with chopped tweepers, chili pepper and slices of calamansi fruits. the sizzling squid is the same style, but the main ingredient is squid. the sizzling squid had a nice taste, but it was too oily. the sizzling sisig, on the other hand, where the ingredients were scraped out of a pighead, was honestly not what I had expected. I had the sizzling sisig confused with the sizzling pork! but my fault. the sizzling pork is a delicious dish of chopped pork. Conclusion the sizzling sisig was not my cup tee, lection learned! review: 1-5 where 1 is terrible and 5 is excellent 2 food 3 service 2 worth 4 atmosphere I was here in the januar 2017
Under the name of the local dialect for nipa hat (grass dach) kamalig is an extremely popular spot, music and food place. with live music daily, super fast service and excellent eating, it is no wonder that kamalig is so popular. at my first visit in kamalig I was blown away from the quality of food/price ratio, excellent service and great atmosphere. our waiter fred was especialy astute, held his tables immaculate, with looking at the back of his head he was always available on order and support. the extensive menu contains almost 100 dishes, including bark meat, pork, hugging, fish, noodles, suppe, some sweet options and a selection of deserts. drinks are also very affordable. kitchen: american barbeque breakfast filipino sandwiches meereskultur vegetarisch location features: bar cafe culture disco live music (acoustic) live music (non acoustic)
I love this place because it serves what you want. although it is quite expensive, but it is worth it.
They FIRED my favorite server, Lyn, because she took a SECOND sick day off, in a WHOLE YEAR. What a bunch of shameful slave-drivers! She wasn't hard to look at, either.
On the last day of my short vacation in Dumaguete, my cousin and I decided to have lunch at Atong Kamalig restaurant because I was craving for some native Inasal Chicken. The restaurant is located downtown, near the Cathedral. It is spacious, with available parking slots and separate areas for smoking and non-smoking guests. We opted for the non-smoking area with air conditioning due to the humid weather outside. The ambiance was not very appealing, so don't expect too much in that aspect. We ordered garlic shrimp, chopsuey, and Inasal Chicken, which cost us less than a thousand pesos and was enough for two people. The presentation of the food was not very attractive, as it appeared somewhat dry and the prices were a bit on the high side. The taste of the Inasal Chicken wasn't as authentic as I had hoped for, considering we were in the Negros region. I think I will have to visit Bacolod to try the real deal. The wait time was quite long, so I would suggest the restaurant implement buzzers to call waiters since the areas are divided. Overall, my dining experience was average, so I would give it 3 stars. Address: Atong Kamalig Restaurant, Katada St., Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
